Hennessy and women’s socks

En route to Colorado on the train I had one hour and a limited budget in Chicago.  I get out to canal and reach madison where I was previously told there was a liquor store on the 1400 block (too much money to drink the trains beverages).  I had moccasins on, there was snow and slush everywhere, and in a moment of foolhardiness I set out for the trek that turned into a very regrettable 45 minutes.  I get to the 1000 block, my feet were soaked I was frustrated and took a cab.  I told him my alcohol related destination and he said I shouldn’t drink.  I informed him I was on a train again for the next day, he sympathized.  We get to the 1400 address and lo and behold a restuarant (my seeing red prevents my recalling actually what it was).  He then said I should try Walgreens.  I get out and pay him the six bucks.  In the store  I soon find out they only sell regular size bottles of liquer, no small guys who I was gonna stock up on so to be discreet.  The only somewhat small bottle the had was Hennessy, twenty bucks.  Then I rush to isle three where I was told had socks, and it did.  I grab the cheapest rushed back to the train station.  A dollar cup of fried rice and i was on the train, sitting next to Stephen who turned out to be an interesting guy who decided to pick up his belongings and rail it to San Jose, with my Hennessy and women’s socks.
